Hi I want to know if you could help with information about this gun, I want to know how to recognize a fake from an original, could you tell this by seeing pictures?

Thank you

About 2 months ago I bought a 2nd Gen .357 SAA with a lanyard loop installed. Unfortunately, it is at the gunsmith right now or I'd post a picture, and I also have no idea who installed the loop.
Maybe it will be Colt installed instead of Bubba Shadetree deluxe. Maybe the moon will rise in the west.

As far as the lanyard loop yes the artillery SAA did have these. Have seen many pic's with them.

Thank you all, I have not buy the gun yet, the seller is asking me $400 I have send an email to Sam Lisker from Coltautos.com and this is his response:

Thanks for the photos. I do not believe this is an original Colt manufactured pistol as the dimensions are slightly different.

Regards,

Sam Lisker

What is your opinion?

The Revolver to me looks a little 'off'...and or may well be some off-make or even a 'prop'...hard to tell much with the images provided.

Better, closer images - and close ups of any Texts stamped on to the Barrel or Frame - would really be best, to aid in making a determination as to what it is.

Unless it's a photo parallax error, look at the angle of the lower edge of the grip frame - it angles downward toward the front, like this copy. If you sat the grip frame flat on the counter, the barrel would be pointing upward. A Colt's barrel would remain level.

Once the picture is blown up the whole gun looks a bit wonky. The front sight is not shaped right, the cylinder pin is too long, the grips are shaped wrong, lanyard loop, and funny looking angles on the frame and trigger guard. Of course the pictures are very poor so they may be contributing to the look.

Thanks for your help, I used this thread for a newer question haha, do you have some info about my new question: I am using this thread for help, I am restoring and old single action army in 44-40 cal, and I have a doubt, does the ejector rod from a Colt SAA New Frontier in .22 cal fit this 44-40
